Nerves give the ability to feel in the lips. And there are lots and lots and lots of them. It is for protection. Unless they get cut up really bad, you aren't going to destroy them. I wouldn't recommend pinching them really hard though, you could certainly damage the blood vessels there and that would be very bad.

Whats gives you the ability to feel in your lips? Can pinching or squeezing get rid of the ability to feel?
