I have recently taken up playing the saxophone and after each time i play my lips are very sore and cracked, Is this normal?
Any tips to stop this, or does this happen all all new beginner players ?

It's because they get dry. Wear chapstick when you're not playing, and apply it before you go to bed. It's perfectly normal!

stay hydrated. drink plenty of water and wear chapstick or lip balm. there's this stuff called burts bees which is a really good chapstick. its probably at your local pharmacy
