Are cats normally suppose to have black lips?

when my kitten yawns or bites stuff, i can see a ring of black around the outside of her mouth. Are cats normally suppose to have black lips?
It's the pigment of the lining on the inside of the mouth. Cats often have more than one color pigment in their mouths. If you feel that this something other than pigment, I would take her to the vet.

good luck! Are cats normally suppose to have black lips?
My blue russian mix has black lips-it may depend on the breed.

I googled 'cat lips' and found this link, but the info is about black spots on lips and noses, normally on orange or calico cats, that suddenly appear, and are equivalent to freckles and are harmless.

Enjoy your kitten-they aren't little for long-you sound like a great owner to pay so much attention-God bless.
