Ugh why do i keep getting acne around my lips?

its really embarrassing because it looks like herpes, im afraid to approach the girl I like now cuz of this. I have one near my lip and its all red now. What can I do to get rid of the redness? Ive tried toothpaste and that didnt seem to help, it dosent feel like a pimple is coming in anymore its just really red. I've been told that acne around your mouth is hormonal (like testosterone). You could see your primary care physician and ask them about it...they might be able to give you some pills to balance things out...if that is indeed what it is.





Everyone has acne...if she turns you down because of it then shes not worth it. :)

the secret to treating and preventing acne is a good diet. with all the refined junkfood your body has a hard time dealing with acne. the main reasons why acne forms and persists is because of hormonal, nutritional, and immune abnormalities in your body which can be stabilized with a diet rich in fruits%26amp;veges, water, essential nutrients, and NO junk or processed food or any sorts! remember that topical acne creams, products, etc. are just temporary fixes for an inside problem! i know thats not the quick easy answer you wanted to hear, but if you want results then you need to work hard

probably because you shave and it gets irritated or your pores are just more sensitive there, get a basic acne wash not toothpaste, and if you do shave try swithching shave gel or whateveer you use to one for sensitive skin

Do you use chapstick? If you do, it's probably not oil-free and it's clogging the pores around your lips. Most chapsticks smear and run, there isn't much you can do about it.





If you think that might be the problem, you can try to find a good oil-free moisturizer to use on your lips (And entire face) rather than a chapstick, but I myself am having a hard time finding a good moisturizer.





Also, for existing pimples, you can get 20% or 30% Salicylic Acid (Most products in stores only have 2% - 5%) on Ebay and spot it on them with a Q-Tip. It'll literally melt the surface of the pimple off, and you can apply some Benzoyl Peroxide to it afterwards to kill the bacteria, getting rid of the pimple. Just be very careful with high amounts of Salicylic, and be sure you read all the warnings. (And never put it ON your lips or in a position that it could run onto your lips.)
