What can I do for extremely chapped, bleeding lips?

Please don't tell me Chapstick or Burts Bees or anything this is beyond that. Also Vaseline every hour is not working. What can I do for extremely chapped, bleeding lips?
You should try some special kinds of Blistex, or a good idea would be to got to your local store, look in the pharmacy section and look for some products for extremely chapped %26amp; bleeding lips.

Here is a link you may also want to check out! God bless you! :)

Blistex maybe? Cocoa butter?
If you're in the states, go to your farm supply store, and buy some Bag Balm. It's used for cows udders for when they're nursing or if they crack and bleed from milking. I know, gross, right?

It's on the same line as Vaseline, but it's medicated (and perfect for humans...). http://www.bagbalm.com/

It's one of those old remedies that's passed down from generation to generation. You get a buttload of it and seriously, it works really good for your lips. I use it after I burn the crap out of my lips from skiing.
I lived in Cheyenne Wy so I know what you are going through...The vitamin E is good advice...There is also something for fishermen that is wonderful....I have always found Blistex and the like to be useless...but to really heal the lips maybe you need to exfoliate the area before you put anything on them....lightly ';scrub'; the are with something like St Ives scrubbing cleanser....I know it sound harsh and it may sting a little...just scrub lightly and then coat your lips with the vitamin E...you should remove the dead tissue so the oil can be better absorbed.... please prevent this by staying hydrated and keeping the chapstick on before they get to this stage....
If they are thin, raw, and chapped then the only thing you can do is keep a vaseline or wax based moisturizer on them. This will prevent water (or more likely saliva) from getting on the area. If they are sore, pealing, and dry then hold a warm, wet washcloth on them for about 5 minutes and then coat with a very generous coating of vaseline. Cover again for a few minutes and then scrub off the vaseline to remove the dead, pealing skin. Then reapply a chapstick that you like using.
Blistex, or any kind of colesore cream works best.
Actually, you should avoid Chapstick and any other lip balm that contains alcohol because this will just continue to dry out the delicate tissues of the lips. Make sure you aren't licking your lips constantly too. Remember, saliva is made to start the digestion process.
you already used all my options so you might need to see the doc
carmex is the best thing i have found.
Short term, if it isn't some bizzare symptom of a rare disease (see your doctor) then a bit of patience (which no one likes) is an order.

Drink more water.

I used to have the same problem every year. Read an article about how the lips are an indicator for the rest of the body. Was skeptical but tried it anyway, drank about double or more the water I was (not )drinking %26amp; it worked. I say - double or triple your water intake %26amp; see if it gets better. also, do NOT lick your lips.

Good Luck!

;-)
you are not drinking enough water lot's and lots of water will do the trick also vaseline should help out at night befor bed, and in the morning
Before you go to bed, take a gel capsule of Vitamin E and spread the gel from inside the capsule all over your lips. It works for me. It's somewhat sticky and thick, but it softens and moisturizes your lips if you leave it on overnight.
uh... Chapstick? haha, get some noxema
Move down south.
Use Carmex on your lips. It is clear and comes in a little white jar w/ yellow lid in any drug store. It should heal them in 2-3 days. BUT keep using it, or the chapped lips will return. Stop licking your lips. Always make sure you have this stuff on when you go outside. Vaseline is too thin and comes off fast. Carmex is wax and stays on a lot longer.
My family is addicted to Mentholatum or Vick's Vapor Rub. We Put it up our noses and under our noses and on our lips Works well, but it will burn like H*ll when you put it on broken skin.
get some vitamin e capsuls. cut em open and put them on your lips. if that doesnt work (which it worked 4 me), get some strong chapstick or lip serum.
Blistex mixed with almond oil and petroleum jelly. Also, stay away from grapefruit and other citrus products.
Yeap, you are right about the lipbalm and vaseline.

Don't know whether you have heard the brand BeautiControl,it have a lip scrub cream and lip balm, its really good and work like wonder, make sure you use it everyday and night.
i think, the best and the most cheapest way to prevent chapped or bleeding lips is to put petroleum jelly on your lips before you put anything in there. it moisturizes your lips. you can even put it everytime you wanted to. putting it overnight will do the best. as far as i know its petroleum jelly, any brand may do.

you can buy for only 25g. so that you can bring it anywhere you want to.

try it then you'll know...
gotta find out what is causing your lips to be chapped. weather? do you lick your lips a lot.? Bag Balm is an old remedy for chapped cows udders, works pretty good on lips as well. hope you find something
I like using carmex in a squeeze tube . Its a great moisturizer for the lips.
